Innovation and Sustainable Growth
South Carolina is proving that sustainable economic growth, innovation and environmental stewardship work in unison.
South Carolina is advancing a new model of economic growth—one driven by innovation, resilience and world-class manufacturing.
Across the state, industry leaders are shifting from traditional practices to modern, technology-enabled production that delivers high-paying jobs, strengthens supply chains and reduces environmental impacts. These efforts not only keep South Carolina competitive in the global marketplace, but also build an economy capable of adapting to future challenges.
Sustain SC plays a key role in convening this innovation ecosystem. We work alongside the South Carolina Department of Commerce and the South Carolina Office of Resilience to identify opportunities that elevate R&D, accelerate sustainable manufacturing and strengthen the infrastructure businesses rely on. Together with our members, we are driving advancements in areas such as advanced materials, energy innovation and circular manufacturing—ensuring South Carolina remains a leader in responsible, resilient economic growth.
Businesses and suppliers connect at our 2025 B2B Matchmaker Event co-hosted with the South Carolina Department of Commerce.
Strategic Actions
TOGETHER, OUR ACCELERATOR WORKING GROUP IS ADVANCING THE FOLLOWING INITIATIVES:
Business to Business (B2B) Networking Events: In partnership with the SC Dept. of Commerce, we host B2B events to accelerate the adoption of innovative and efficient practices. Buyers gain access to vetted, sustainability-minded suppliers who can help them met their emissions reductions goals and requirements. Suppliers gain visibility and opportunity with corporations actively looking for innovative, sustainable partners.
Annual Manufacturing Tour: Starting in 2026, Sustain SC will facilitate an annual Manufacturing Tour so participants can gain exposure to the procurement practices, priorities and innovation strategies of top SC manufacturers.
Facilitated State and National Supplier Registrations: In 2026, Sustain SC will guide members through registration with key databases such as Source SC, Connex and Nexus RFP. Position your products, services and solutions where they will be seen by companies actively seeking innovative, sustainable partners — unlocking new business opportunities, grants and collaboration networks and providing members with direct access to resources that reduce barriers to entry and maximize visibility.
Supply Chain Workshops: In 2026, Sustain SC will launch a three-part Regional Supply Chain Workshop series as part of our expanded supply chain member offerings. This is a cross-accelerator initiative developed in partnership with the Metrics + Reporting Accelerator.
